Official Contest & Sweepstakes Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase, payment, or membership fee will not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited by law.

1. Sponsor

These promotions are sponsored by Shari Hensley, REALTOR®, Gulf Coast Dream Homes, and administered within the private Facebook group Galveston County Homeowners Network (“the Group”). These promotions are not affiliated with, sponsored by, administered by, or endorsed by Meta Platforms, Inc. or Facebook in any way.

2. Eligibility

  • Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

  • Entrant must be an approved member of the Galveston County Homeowners Network Facebook group at the time of entry and at the time of any prize drawing or judging.

  • Entrant must currently own a home in Galveston County, Texas, or reasonably intend to purchase a home in Galveston County, Texas, within the next twelve (12) months.

  • Employees, contractors, and immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings) of Sponsor are not eligible to win a cash prize but may participate for fun.

  • Licensed real estate agents, brokers, and REALTORS® (active or inactive license) are not eligible to enter or win either promotion.

3. Weekly “Guess the Sale Price” Contest

Entry Period: A new home will be posted weekly in the Group with a photo, address or general area, square footage, and notable amenities. Entrants have until the deadline stated in that week’s post (typically 5–7 days) to submit one guess by commenting on the post.

How to Win: The winner is the entrant whose guess is closest to the actual sold price without going over, as verified by the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) MLS record of the most recent sale of the featured property. This is a game of skill; winners are determined by accuracy of estimate, not by random drawing.

Entries: One guess per person per property. Duplicate guesses from the same entrant will be disqualified except for the first submitted.

Ties: If two or more entrants submit the same closest qualifying guess, the entrant who commented first (by timestamp) is the winner.

Prize: $50 cash or gift card, awarded weekly. Approximate retail value (ARV): $50.

4. Monthly $500 Cash Giveaway

Entry Period: Each monthly entry period begins 12:00 AM Central Time on the 1st day of the month and ends 11:59 PM Central Time on the last day of the same month.

How to Enter: All members of the Group who meet the eligibility requirements in Section 2 are automatically entered once per month at no cost. No purchase, payment, or additional action is required beyond active Group membership.

Bonus Entries: Entrants may earn up to three (3) additional entries by referring friends who join the Group using the entrant’s unique referral link and are subsequently approved as members. Bonus entries will not be earned for simply sharing the Group or a post to a personal timeline; the referred member must join via the entrant’s link. Maximum of 4 total entries (1 base + 3 referral) per person per month.

Winner Selection: Winner is chosen at random from all eligible entries (including bonus entries) using a spinning wheel, conducted live on the Sponsor’s Facebook page or Group within 5 business days after the entry period closes. The live drawing will be recorded for transparency.

Winner Notification & Claim: The winner will be announced live and tagged/contacted via Facebook Messenger. Winner must respond and provide information needed to receive the prize within 5 business days of notification. If unclaimed, an alternate winner will be drawn using the same random method.

Prize: $500 cash, awarded monthly. Approximate retail value (ARV): $500. Limit one $500 prize per household per calendar year.

5. General Conditions

  • By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final in all matters relating to these promotions.

  • By accepting a prize, winners grant Sponsor permission to use their first name, city, and likeness (photo/video) in promotional and marketing materials across social media, print, and web, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

  • Sponsor is not responsible for entries lost due to technical issues, Facebook outages, or Group access errors.

  • Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant suspected of fraud, fake accounts, or violation of these rules, and to modify, suspend, or discontinue either promotion at any time for any reason.

  • Winners are solely responsible for any applicable federal, state, or local taxes on prizes received. Sponsor will issue IRS Form 1099 where required by law.

  • These promotions are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc.
